The north channel of Georgian Bay offers a unique and memorable paddling experience amongst the many islands, mountain ranges and crystal clear waters along the way. The route runs from the town of Killarney to shores just south of Spanish. En route, the group will take time to explore the La Cloche Mountain range and the many islands that dot the Channel. Although participants will spend their first day at camp familiarizing themselves with safety procedures and paddling techniques in sea kayaks, we recommend that participants have some past experience and feel comfortable in kayaks. Where is the North Channel? The North Channel of Georgian Bay are the waters between Manitoulin Island and the north shore of the Bay. The channel is a premier destination for sea kayaking, as its many islands and inlets allow safe passage and protection from the waters of Georgian Bay.Click here to see the area on a map. |
