The Venture - LIT program is an optional second step in Camp Queen Elizabeth’s leadership training program.  The program consists of a month-long trip in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, in Northwestern Ontario.

While the Leadership 1 program focuses on personal skill development and leadership within their peer group, the Venture LIT program focuses on leadership in a wilderness environment, decision-making, and the further development of tripping skills.

Who is this program for?
-16 year-old boys and girls looking for an adventurous, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

How is the program set-up?
-It is a 5-week program, where just over 4 weeks are spent on a wilderness canoe trip.
-The program is co-ed.  Due to the nature of this program, spots are extremely limited; we recommend registering early.

Are there any prerequisites?
-Participants must be either 16 years old, or turning 16 by December 31, 2009.
-Participants must have completed CQE’s Leadership 1 program, or an equivalent leadership program elsewhere.
-Participants must be comfortable and competent canoeists, with past experience on canoe trips.
-It is recommended that participants have their Bronze Cross swimming level, however this is not required.

How does registration work?
-Register as you would for any other CQE program.
-Download the Leadership 2 Application Form from the Forms section of our website.  The participant should fill this out and return it to our offices.
-Due to the length and location of this program, all applicants will be interviewed within 1-month of their registration to ensure their suitability for the program.
-Although entry into the program is conditional on completion of an interview, registrations will be processed in the order they are received.  Payment will only be processed once entry into the program is confirmed.
